| The Production Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the regional pharmacy this includes the coordination of patient care from referral process to order delivery. The Pharmacy Manager coordinates technician services including warehouse shipping and receiving, technician scheduling, compounding, staff evaluations, quality assurance and dispensing. The Production Pharmacy Manager is responsible for performing the activities of a Home Care Infusion Pharmacist and all other duties assigned. The Production Pharmacy Manager will work with the Branch Manager for day-to-day pharmacy operations and will be responsible to the Director of Pharmacy Services/Regional Director for the management of staff, clinical services and strategic planning. |
Duties: |
Duties include but not limited to: Manage and develop Pharmacy staff. Validated to mix pharmaceuticals through company approved aseptic technique course. Reviews pharmaceutical preparations to assure accuracy in preparation. Adheres to company policy on the labeling of pharmaceutical products. Assures timely delivery and response to patients and referral sources by appropriately scheduling and prioritizing pharmaceutical and supply preparation. Coordinates and participates in scheduled on call activities. Assures technician/pharmacist staff practices proper aseptic technique and is validated to mix per company policy. Assists in the development of drug information literature. Supports the transition of patients from hospital to contracted nursing agency to include (but not limited to) pre-discharge set-up and teaching in the hospital if appropriate and coordination/direct communication with hospital case managers/discharge planners, contracted nursing agency personnel and physicians. |
Qualifications: |
The Production Pharmacy Manager shall possess a BS degree or higher from an accredited school of pharmacy. At least 2 years of experience in hospital pharmacy, with current home infusion pharmacy experience preferred. Previous management experience preferred. Must have a current NC pharmacist license. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and flexibility are required. |
