Description:

Responsible for keeping kitchen areas clean and well stocked, preparing and delivering patient meals.

Please note this is not a full time position. The expectation is that there will be a minimum of one shift per week, but this is not guaranteed.

Duties:

1. Assists with organizing and setting up foods, equipment, and supplies for meal preparation and delivery.
2. Serves regular and modified diets accurately and timely.
3. Maintains proper sanitation at all times, cleans working area and equipment after each meal service.
4. Works at dishtank, and delivers carts to the patient floor.
5. Assists with diet changes, patient labels, and patient requests.

Qualifications:

1. 1-3 years experience in food preparation, preferably in a hospital or hospice environment.
2. Knowledge of basic nutrition and modified diets.
3. Ability to follow simple and complex recipes.
4. Ability to properly operate kitchen appliances and knives.
5. Understands and follows oral and written instructions to completion, while meeting deadlines.
6. Is courteous and helpful to patients and hospice personnel.
7. Maintains good personal hygiene. Cleans equipment and work areas.
8. Ability to work as a member of a team.
9. Reliable transportation
